A teen heart is lush and quick and quiet all at once. and year-round. You think this how it will be for a while but things start to change. Now there are seasons. And the longing shifts and you talk to him and make decisions and stop wearing sneakers all the time. And fall in love and kiss with your eyes open. And it is nothing like making love under the water, or falling asleep on the beach with sand in your hair. Sometimes you roll over and sleep so heavily, you forget to go home in the morning.
